I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science, at Institute of Mathematics and Statistics – University of Sao Paulo. My advisor is Prof. Fabio Kon. We are working in the project “Empirical evaluation of agile practices impact on team productivity” (Granted by the State of São Paulo Research Foundation and The Research Council of Norway).
Besides the academic involvement, I’ve been working in software companies in the last 11 years.

Current Activities:
PhD. I’m conducting quantitative and qualitative research on Agile Methods and Software Productivity . My goal is generate empirical evidence regarding factors influencing agile team productivity, and explore productivity metrics in the agile context. My research project is based on collaborative, intensive partnership with IT industry. During the project, I’ve been participating in many important Agile conferences worldwide, and I also attended courses in other countries (such as Norway and Italy).
I’m the key player on the research project regarding Agile state-of-practice in Brazil (some results are available on the web). I’m the co-founder of SOMA research group, involving 2 professors, 1 posdoc, 5 PhD candidates and 6 master students. I’m also conducting applied research on agile methods in collaboration with other universities (UFPE, NTNU, UnB) and many multinational and national companies.
Consultancy and Teaching: I’m promoting agile methods and tech innovations in Brazilian private/public organizations. My main activities are: giving courses on agile methods, team productivity, and lean startups;
consulting on agile methods deployment and metrics; blogging in Agilcoop web site.
