			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday I attended the Joe Yoder&#8217;s interesting talk about &#8220;Software Patterns and Quality: Can Patterns Help Quality?&#8221;. He introduced the concept of &#8216;Perfection is the enemy of “Good Enough”&#8217;. He said that the systems have to be the quality of being good enough. And asked: &#8220;Does it meet the minimum requirements?&#8221;</p>
<p>He also showed some really nice concepts about patterns (that are related to the next tutorial of my advisor <a href="http://wiki.dcc.ufba.br/SugarLoafPlop/Tutorials">at SugarLoafPlop 2010</a>):</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8221; From patterns perspective, Alexander looked at QWAN (Quality without a name) as “the quality&#8221; that imparts incommunicable<br />
beauty and immeasurable value to a structure. It encompasses all of the following:<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Semana passada fui apresentada ao projeto Vital Signs, que foi apresentado no <span style="color:white;"><a href="http://agile2010.agilealliance.org/project.html">Agile 2010 conference</a><span style="color:#000000;"> &#8211; Agosto/2010. </span></span>O projeto baseia-se na linha de visualização de métricas de projetos de software e usa 5 dimensões importantes para um bom acompanhamento:</p>
<p>* Escopo (Escope Burn up)</p>
<p>* Tempo (Current state of delivery)</p>
<p>*  Custos (Budget burn down)</p>
<p>*  Qualidade (Delivery Quality)</p>
<p>*  Time (Team Dynamics) &#8211;&gt; <span style="color:#ff0000;">essa dimensão é nova se pensarmos no modelo tradicional de gerenciamento de projetos</span></p>
<p>Há algum tempo defendo formas de visualização da saúde dos projetos de software. O <a href="http://www.sonarsource.org/" target="_blank">Sonar</a> (plugin do Hudson) tem sido usado como um painel de visualização da saúde do projeto em termos de qualidade interna (qualidade do código-fonte).  Mas oVital Signs propõe algo mais amplo, que inclui a visualização de outras esferas do projeto em desenvolvimento. Muito interessante!</p>

<p>Since the beginning of my Ph.D., my bet is:</p>
<ul>
<li>Statistics and data about how much money/time is saved by agile &#8211;&gt; Productivity :-)</li>
<li>Sociological studies—what were the personalities in successful/failed agile teams? &#8211;&gt; can explain better the quantitative results.</li>
<li>Architecture and agile—how much design is enough for different classes of problem? &#8211;&gt; very interesting question, I want to explore this issue in the future.</li>
