Escrevi sobre produtividade em times ágeis – um assunto controverso e muitas vezes mal compreendido. Além de buscar uma definição mais completa, descrevo alguns fatores associados à variação de produtividade de times ágeis com base em trabalhos científicos recentes.

A Bluesoft me entrevistou sobre os 10 anos de métodos ágeis, o estado da prática no Brasil e no mundo, e também o estado da arte em pesquisa. Falo um pouco sobre minha carreira e a decisão de fazer doutorado nos 15 primeiros minutos também =]

Há algum tempo defendo formas de visualização da saúde dos projetos de software. O Sonar (plugin do Hudson) tem sido usado como um painel de visualização da saúde do projeto em termos de qualidade interna (qualidade do código-fonte).  Mas oVital Signs propõe algo mais amplo, que inclui a visualização de outras esferas do projeto em desenvolvimento. Muito interessante!

Since the beginning of my Ph.D., my bet is:

• Statistics and data about how much money/time is saved by agile –> Productivity :-)
• Sociological studies—what were the personalities in successful/failed agile teams? –> can explain better the quantitative results.
• Architecture and agile—how much design is enough for different classes of problem? –> very interesting question, I want to explore this issue in the future.
• What metrics can we use with minimal side-effects? –> How can we measure things that really reflect the team opinion?

She brings the concept of behavior from the social sciences. Behavior, as well as performance, is a function of people and environment. She also introduces the “Competing Values Framework (CVF)” to diagnose the culture of a company. See the book “Diagnosing and Changing Organizational Culture” for more information.
